Whether you refer to them as Bendix magnetos, TCM Continental magnetos, or CMI/Bendix magnetos, Quality Aircraft Accessories (QAA) is a recognized market leader for aircraft magneto service, repair, and overhaul. As an FAA/EASA Class I and Class II Repair Station, we are able to service Slick by Champion and CMI/Bendix single and dual magnetos in accordance with the latest manufacturer’s instructions. Each magneto is “tagged” with an 8130-3 form and dual release (FAA and EASA) is available to you upon request at no additional charge.
Magneto services are available at our Tulsa, Oklahoma facility and our newest facility at the Ft. Lauderdale Executive Airport. These services include bench testing, 500 hour inspections, limited repairs, overhaul, overhaul exchange, and purchasing new.
QAA is a Champion authorized warranty repair and service center for Slick magnetos as well as the exclusive AOG distributor for all of Champion’s general aviation products.
Based on fifteen years of experience and the understanding that high-wear parts can lead to premature magneto failure, QAA has developed a 500 hour inspection/repair service in which the magnetos are inspected in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations, service bulletins are complied with, and the following parts are replaced:

A Bendix magneto is a specific type of aircraft magneto manufactured by Teledyne Continental Motors. There are multiple models of Bendix magnetos, and they can be infinitely overhauled. As a result, the Bendix magneto is more often overhauled than bought new, allowing for efficient, cost-effective use.

QAA routinely services magnetos in 3-5 days and same-day service is available if requested.

A: Generally, all TCM/CMI/Bendix Magnetos come with the mounting gasket.
Q: What is Covered Under the Overhaul of Aircraft Magnetos?
A: A normal overhaul includes all parts required by the manual to issue an 8130 that states overhauled in box 12. These items can vary based on part number but normally this includes the points, carbon brush, condenser, oil seal, pinion gear and impulse spring if the aircraft magneto is impulse. They also completely disassemble the aircraft magneto, clean and paint the housings and install new bearings. The aircraft magnetos will then be tested and tagged with an overhauled 8130-3 that includes an EASA dual release.
Q: Are 500 Hour Inspections Required for Aircraft Magnetos?

A: An inspection of the magneto is required at 500 hour intervals under MSB645 (AD 2005-12-06) for some aircraft magnetos, specifically TCM/CMI/Bendix Magnetos.
Q: Is a drive gear included in an exchange? Or will you put one on my TCM/CMI/Bendix Magneto if I send it to you?
A: Drive gears are not included in any exchange for TCM/CMI/Bendix Magnetos. No drive gear will be installed on a magneto sent to us unless it was originally shipped to us with one and we will just re-install the same drive gear back onto the TCM/CMI/Bendix Magneto after servicing.
